Only in Louisiana

Tonight, my mom and I were coming back from dinner at KFC and saw black smoke in the air.  It was coming from the direction of our home.  When we discovered the fire was beyond or home, we decided to go find where it was coming from.  We started heading down E. Kings Hwy. and were sent on a detour through the neighborhood.  We found a street that was right behind the condemineums that were on fire.  We were the first ones there.  Slowly, more and more people came down the road.  First, they were slowing down to gape and watch.  Then, they started stopping and climbing out of their cars.  People were asking questions like "Where is it coming from?" and "Are the firemen there yet?"  Everyone was taking pictures.  One man said "Only in Louisiana would we all be standing here taking pictures."  I called my dad and told him about it and he said "Of course they'd stop, rubber-necking is our only form of entertainment in Shreveport."  All I had to say was "Only in Louisiana."

  1. I don't know--do you think that's a sad commentary on us?
