Pilotline Tryouts

I am so glad today is over.  Yesterday and today were the 2nd tryouts for the danceline.  It has been very exciting.  For the clinic yesterday, we had 16 girls come.  However, three of them walked out during the clinic.  The good news is that only one other girl did not return today.  The turnout today is exactly what I expected after yesterday.  The girls worked hard and I was very proud for the job they did.  I taught them a dance and four progression sequences.  After yesterday, I had four girls I knew I wanted and the other two spots and the alternate spots were up in the air.  The exciting thing is that one of the girls I did not feel was in the running worked very hard and came today very much improved.  Yay!!  So after the line was set, we had to figure out the alternates and that took longer than figuring out the line.  Go figure.  After the results were given, we had a line meeting.  Everyone seemed really excited.  After the meeting, we performed as a whole line in front of the judges and it felt great!!!  Then, half of the line, my mom, and I went to IHOP to eat lunch.  We had a lot of fun getting to know each other.  Now, I'm sitting in bed, very sore, working on organizing all of the line information and finishing up my homework.  I'm not looking forward to tomorrow because I know I'll feel even more sore than I do now.  Monday I will pass out uniforms and we will have our first practice as a whole line.  I'll talk about how it went next week.  Oh, and the line was invited to perform at Christmas at Roseland at the American Rose Center.  It's so exciting!!
