Birthday Blast

Today is the last day of "Birthday Week" and it could be ending sooooo much better than it is.  I'm sitting here watching Bama cream Florida.  Grrrrr.  Well, the week started out calm and then went crazy.  Sunday, I was still sick so my dad took me to lunch at Macaroni Grill and then we hung out at his apartment.  After that, my mom and I popped popcorn and watched "Prince and Me 4."  Monday, we had a Circle K meeting.  I'm so proud of this new club.  They have already picked out their 1st service project.  They want to make candy bags to take to the Providence House for Halloween.  When they deliver them, they want to dress up and read to the kids.  It's going to be so much fun.  Also, my mom and I left work early to go look for a new car.  Also, my mom went and picked up the plaques for Thursday night's Kiwanis Banquet.  Tuesday, we went back and bought the car.  So, I got a car for my birthday!!  It's a 2008 Ford Focus SE.  It's awesome!!  We had to get rid of my other one because the steering was going, the breaks were going, the engine mount was cracked, and who knows what else.  We would have dropped at least $2,000 into it when I had already owned it for 6 years.  It was time.  The new car is nice and quiet.  It starts up the first time and I'm not afraid of getting stuck somewhere.  Yay!!  Wednesday, we finalized everything for the banquet.  Thursday, we had the 2010-2011 Kiwanis Installation Banquet.  For the first time in history, all 4 clubs in the Shreveport area were there together.  My mom and I had bought new dresses, jewelry, and shoes for the banquet.  We looked gorgeous if I do say so myself.  At the banquet, I was in charge of decorations so I had to get there early.  I had scarecrows, pumpkins, gourds, and leaves everywhere.  It was pretty.  My mom was responsible for installing the officers, since she is the incoming Lt. Governor for our division,.  My dad was the Keynote Speaker.  People probably got tired of hearing the Crow name.  My dad was given an Outstanding Service Award for his club.  My mom was named Kiwanian of the Year for her club.  I was named Kiwanian of the Year for my work throughout the year as Sponsored Programs Chairman and as the unofficial club decorator.  I decorated every event we held this year.  As SPC, I started a Terrific Kids and B.U.G.s (Bringing Up Grades) program at University Elementary, I brought the sponsorship of the Key Club at Captain Shreve to our club, and started the Circle K club at LSUS.  I had a very busy year.  It was a wonderful evening.  Friday night, my mom, my closest friends, and I went to Monjunis to have birthday cake and celebrate my birthday.  Today at line practice, we got the ball rolling for 2 fundraisers.  It was a very productive practice.  After, my mom and I went to Friday's to finish out "Birthday Week."  They brought ice cream covered in chocolate and caramel syrup to go with our Vanilla Bean Cheesecake.  I was in Heaven.  Now, I'm watching the Florida game and it has gotten worse from the beginning of this blog to now and the Florida Quarterback just got hurt.  I think I'll go stick my head in a hole now.
